An ionic toothbrush utilizes the science of polarity to loosen plaque. Plaque has a (+) positive charge and tooth enamel has a (-) negative charge as opposites they attract. The Ionic ProClean temporarily changes tooth enamel to a (+) positive charge; thereby repelling the plaque to be gently swept away.
The Ionic ProClean toothbrush contains batteries inside its hermetically sealed handle. The batteries power a circuit board inside that sends a flow of positive (+) ions to the silver contact plate on the handle; and a flow of negative (-) ions to the ionic emitter located near the brush head. The flow of positive (+) ions to the contact plate temporarily changes your tooth enamel to a positive (+) charge. At the same time, the flow of negative (-) ions to the ionic emitter attracts the plaque to the brush head, allowing you to gently sweep the plaque away. As you brush, a red light on the handle shines brightly to confirm that the energy circuit is complete and the ionic action is working to loosen the bonds of plaque.
